What Is Branding And How Does It Apply When Creating An Internet Home Business?

First of all, let me say that I personally feel that it is one of the most critical things we can do as we move toward success in this online home business. It’s all about you! It’s all about me!

It is not about the Program(s) or the Product(s) that we are trying to promote. It?s about the reputation we are trying to build for ourselves and our online home business. Grant it, we must settle upon a support mechanism to maximize our productivity, but you and I are solely responsible for our own success or failure.

When we advertise and promote XYZ Program, whose name is behind that ad? It’s not the Sponsors. It’s yours and mine, or at least it should be. That’s what people remember. I still have lots of bad memories of lots of Internet marketers; and, I still have these same Internet marketers sending me e-mails on their latest and greatest programs, new launches, etc.

I was with some of these people for 6 months. I occasionally respond back to them and tell them why and how they have lost all credibility with me. I don’t drive them to my Spam folder. I like the constant reminder that there are tons of Internet Marketers out there that just don’t get it. And, they provide me with fodder in the things I write.

If I can steer someone away from making the same mistakes I made, then steer them to a real business opportunity, who am I branding. I’m branding Me, just like you are really branding You when you do the same thing. In a way, you are putting yourself above the Program sponsors out there. The point is… it’s your reputation that?s on the line.

If you are into Social Networking, and you should be, this is a great way to develop a positive reputation in Internet marketing. Social Networking is not about selling. It?s about building your reputation. Whether it?s Facebook, Digg, MySpace, Twitter or the myriad of Social Networking sites out there, they provide an excellent tool to get your name and face out to a lot of people.

I?ll use Twitter as an example. I am constantly bombarded with ?tweets? with links and recommendations to ?buy something.? These people are missing the point. They do tend to be persistent. They consistently ?tick-me-off.? On the other hand, if they were providing me value, I would be more apt to visit their website.

If you want to make money with a Twitter-type site, there is brand new site called Sokule. Sokule allows you to monetize your site, so when you send the equivalent ?squeeks? you can potentially earn money. Plus, Sokule, or as they claim ?So Cool,? is more of a business networking site, so you aren?t as like likely to spoil your good name as you are using Twitter to blast out your next business opportunity.

If you want to build a positive brand, try using the Social Networks to pass value to other Internet marketers. There are a ton of free sites and programs that Internet marketers need that are readily available out there.

When you come across these free goodies, copy and paste the URL into a separate file or folder, and share them via the Social Networking sites that you use. Then, in four to six months, do it again. Building a positive brand for yourself and your Internet marketing business, will result in huge rewards for you in the future.

Article Composing Enigmas & Techniques - Five Ways To Never Run Out Of Material To Say In Your Articles

Do you ever find yourself staring at a blank screen or a blank sheet of paper when you’re supposed to be writing articles for your blog, for your ezine or newsletter and for article submission so you can promote your books, products or services?

How would you like to find ways to tap into a limitless supply of article ideas?

Yes, our imaginations run thin every now and then, and no, it isn’t easy to come up with article ideas sometimes. But, I promise you that there are ways to tap into a limitless supply of article ideas for Online Marketing. No matter what your expertise lies in, you can always generate new and interesting ideas for articles IF you follow these guidelines…

5 Ways to Never Run Out of Article Ideas

1) Get inspiration from magazines covers.

Find a magazine that is as close as you can get to your niche and look at the titles on the magazine cover. Look at the titles that jump out at you and make you say, “That looks like it would be a good article-I want to read that!”

Many times you can bounce an article off of a title you see on a magazine cover. Can you convert that title to apply to something in your specific niche?

Now, notice I’m saying, “find a magazine that is somewhat in your niche.” Many of us have websites that are in niches that do not have their own magazines. For example, there is no magazine that I know of about Article publishing.

But I sashay a short distance from my specific niche and look in related niches, such as Writing, Creativity, Productivity, and possibly even SEO. These are all issues that lie at the heart of article marketing, so they work as inspiration launching pads.

2) Don’t forget about the newbies.

When we’re writing on our area of expertise, sometimes we can overlook the obvious. We want to write helpful, educational articles, and our minds quite often go to topics that are more advanced.

Have you ever considered that someone reading your article might not even understand the basics of what you’re talking about?

I have to remind myself of this all the time-not everyone knows what article marketing is, and not everyone even knows the reasons why it’s a popular Online Marketing tool.

Could the same thing be true in your niche?

Think about it-although our articles are not sales oriented or promotional in any way, when we educate our readers on some aspect of our niche, we are increasing the likelihood that they will one day be our customers.

So, don’t forget about the newbies who are in your target market but aren’t knowledgeable about what you do. Try to think back to questions you had when you were first starting out. Think about what confused you. Think about the very basic things that you wish someone had explained to you before you became the expert.

3) Think about: “What are the 10 questions that my customers (or potential customers) most frequently ask me?”

Write those questions down and address each one of them in a separate article.

By completing this writing exercise, you’re letting your target market tell you what to write about. This makes perfect sense since you’re trying to appeal to them anyway.

4) Use template titles and fill in the blanks.

Here are some of mine:

* 10 Great Reasons Why ____
* How To ____ in 7 Easy Steps
* 3 Secret Tricks For _____
* How To Conquer ______
* The Top 10 Mistakes People Make When ____
* Reader Question: “[insert question here]“

You may notice that these titles are all List articles (any article that has a 1,2,3 etc list in it), How-To articles, and Question articles (articles that answer a question that is stated in the title).

These are my go-to article topic stimulators. Just seeing the format for the title gets the wheels of my brain moving (which helps creativity!)

Try filling in the blanks for the template titles listed above, and I bet you can come up with a compelling title to base a new article on.

Here’s What I Use To Help My EBay Selling

I get many requests about the systems I use in running my own eBay and internet business.

To give you the answer in one place, here is the software which I use daily in my own business.

I should point out that much of my own activity is now to do with selling digital information via eBay and from websites i.e. ebooks and software, which is why some of the software programs I use are concerned with this activity.

General productivity

Shortkeys
This is lovely utility which saves me hours of time each week. It is perfect for those occasions when you are required to key in information to websites. For example, how often do you key in your name and address, or a username and password, or an email address?

With Shortkeys, you associate 3 or 4 unique keystrokes with a string of frequently used information. Let’s suppose I want to have a shortkey for my email address, and I set this as ##z1 in Shortkeys. Whenever I am required to key in my email address, in Outlook, on web forms, in Word documents etc, I just type in ##z1 and Shortkeys instantly replaces that with my email address.

There is an uncharged version called Shortkeys Lite which has a limit of 30 items. The full version of Shortkeys allows you an unlimited number of items.

Download Accelerator

If you regularly download ebooks or software, and it seems to take forever, you will find Download Accelerator is a useful addition to your portfolio. Ebook Production

Acrobat Adobe
I create all my ebooks in pdf format as this file can be read by anyone with Acrobat Reader, and this includes Mac users too. The way I create an ebook is to write it in Microsoft Word first. Once I’m happy that the Word version is exactly how I want it, I use an integrated converter which takes the Word file and converts it automatically into a pdf file. This conversion preserves everything which appeared in the Word document, including headers/footers, page numbers and web links.

Website creation and maintenance

Website design
I use Macromedia’s Dreamweaver to design websites, and indeed to create eBay auction description pages. Dreamweaver is a premium web design product, and unless you’re going to do serious website design I wouldn’t advise you to acquire it.

Image Manipulation & Optimising
I use Paint Shop Pro for picture manipulation and for optimising. This is important for auction pictures, as eBay have a size limit of 50KB on any pictures which you want to upload to their Picture Service.

The authors, JASC, have just released Version 9 of this software. I find Version 8 is perfectly acceptable for everything I want to do, and it’s cheaper than Version 9.

You can’t now buy Version 8 from the author’s USA site, which is unfortunate as this was the cheapest way of buying the product before Version 9 came out.

Website upload

Website hosting
ProWebSpace are excellent and reasonable web hosts which I have now been using for over a year. I transferred to them from another host with whom I was having lots of problems. Now, I have a better service, and it’s at one third the price! Of course, you can get web space for nothing from a variety of ISPs. Take a look at http://www.freeisp.com

You only need companies like ProWebSpace if you intend to “go commercial” in your internet activities. If you do, it’s important to have a paid service as this gives you the right to kick b**t if ever you experience hosting problems. Newsletter and other Mailings

As my newsletter has grown, I’ve tried various ways of managing my mailing lists. I currently use Press-Manager, and have found their service to be very easy to set-up and to use. It’s a web based service, and all mailings are performed from their site. Autoresponding
