Article Composing Enigmas & Techniques - Five Ways To Never Run Out Of Material To Say In Your Articles

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Do you ever find yourself staring at a blank screen or a blank sheet of paper when you’re supposed to be writing articles for your blog, for your ezine or newsletter and for article submission so you can promote your books, products or services?

How would you like to find ways to tap into a limitless supply of article ideas?

Yes, our imaginations run thin every now and then, and no, it isn’t easy to come up with article ideas sometimes. But, I promise you that there are ways to tap into a limitless supply of article ideas for Online Marketing. No matter what your expertise lies in, you can always generate new and interesting ideas for articles IF you follow these guidelines…

5 Ways to Never Run Out of Article Ideas

1) Get inspiration from magazines covers.

Find a magazine that is as close as you can get to your niche and look at the titles on the magazine cover. Look at the titles that jump out at you and make you say, “That looks like it would be a good article-I want to read that!”

Many times you can bounce an article off of a title you see on a magazine cover. Can you convert that title to apply to something in your specific niche?

Now, notice I’m saying, “find a magazine that is somewhat in your niche.” Many of us have websites that are in niches that do not have their own magazines. For example, there is no magazine that I know of about Article publishing.

But I sashay a short distance from my specific niche and look in related niches, such as Writing, Creativity, Productivity, and possibly even SEO. These are all issues that lie at the heart of article marketing, so they work as inspiration launching pads.

2) Don’t forget about the newbies.

When we’re writing on our area of expertise, sometimes we can overlook the obvious. We want to write helpful, educational articles, and our minds quite often go to topics that are more advanced.

Have you ever considered that someone reading your article might not even understand the basics of what you’re talking about?

I have to remind myself of this all the time-not everyone knows what article marketing is, and not everyone even knows the reasons why it’s a popular Online Marketing tool.

Could the same thing be true in your niche?

Think about it-although our articles are not sales oriented or promotional in any way, when we educate our readers on some aspect of our niche, we are increasing the likelihood that they will one day be our customers.

So, don’t forget about the newbies who are in your target market but aren’t knowledgeable about what you do. Try to think back to questions you had when you were first starting out. Think about what confused you. Think about the very basic things that you wish someone had explained to you before you became the expert.

3) Think about: “What are the 10 questions that my customers (or potential customers) most frequently ask me?”

Write those questions down and address each one of them in a separate article.

By completing this writing exercise, you’re letting your target market tell you what to write about. This makes perfect sense since you’re trying to appeal to them anyway.

4) Use template titles and fill in the blanks.

Here are some of mine:

* 10 Great Reasons Why ____
* How To ____ in 7 Easy Steps
* 3 Secret Tricks For _____
* How To Conquer ______
* The Top 10 Mistakes People Make When ____
* Reader Question: “[insert question here]“

You may notice that these titles are all List articles (any article that has a 1,2,3 etc list in it), How-To articles, and Question articles (articles that answer a question that is stated in the title).

These are my go-to article topic stimulators. Just seeing the format for the title gets the wheels of my brain moving (which helps creativity!)

Try filling in the blanks for the template titles listed above, and I bet you can come up with a compelling title to base a new article on.

5) Use Instant Article Writing Templates

If You Need More Targeted Visitors To Your Site This Will Get The Free Traffic Flowing

Monday, November 9th, 2009

If you don’t know by now one the best ways to attract free
traffic to your site is with articles. You find them in your
email. You find them on any website that provides useful
content. Take a look and you will see they are all formatted
the same way.

Attention-getting headline

Body of article ( usually offers tips or how to
information)

Resource box - That is at the end and involves a blurb to
plug your site or product and your link(s)

I’m sure if you think about it you can come up with some
ideas of your own for great articles. A good place to start:

What is it that you would really like to know? Find the
answer online with Google or go to your local library and
write away!

Aside from creating helpful content your purpose is to
promote yourself. Thus, the resource box. Do not include
affiliate links, leave your selling for when the reader
clicks through to your site.

Okay, you’ve written an article- what now?

Submit your article to the article banks. Article banks are
depositories for articles. Like a real bank you can make a
deposit or a withdrawal. There are several articles on my
site that I did not write. I made several “withdrawals” from
some of the banks. It’s a great way to get free content for
your site.

When you are re-publishing another author’s
article you must remember one very important thing: Never
ever cut-off the resource box! They worked hard to create
something useful for you. Repay their generosity by keeping
the links intact.

And guess what? if you take your article and make a
“deposit” it’s free for others to download and post on their
site or newsletter! You could find it scattered all over the
net in no time.

Why is that good? Because of your link in the resource box.
That link is going to bring you curious visitors which means
more traffic for you!

I know from personal experience when I find some useful info
in an article I want to find more useful stuff from the same
author so I follow the link.

And because you wrote so well about your topic I will
get the impression you are an expert. We both know
that may not be the case, but if people see you as an
authority in some area they will seek you out for tips,
advice and product recommendations. That means
more traffic and ultimately more money in your pocket.

There are dozens of article banks you can submit your
writing to for free. Just do a search on the net. And
submit, submit, submit! If you write it - the traffic will
come.

Are You Ready For Your Own Income Generating Membership Site?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Everyone would jump at the chance to have a membership site that brings in a monthly recurring income and have to do only a minimum amount of work if any at all.

Clue me in as to what the ?membership site? is all about!

You are absolutely right! A membership site provides the same service for a group of people who have the same need or interest.

As long as they retain their membership, you will charge these people monthly, quarterly or yearly or whatever the terms of your contract with them states for using your service.

This is not like a one time sale offer for which you continually need to find new customers for. You will also not need to come up with any new products to upsell the current ones that are available. A membership site business will give you a reliable, stable and steady income each and every month. In order to keep your clients happy and turn them into a royalty customer depends upon your service to them.

If you are a good Internet marketer, you will need to have a membership site of your very own. You may never have thought about running your own membership site, but it attracts customers like flies to honey and in some ways it is easier to manage than the typical affiliate sites.

The goal of an affiliate marketer is to build a strong customer list. When you have a membership site, it is an excellent means of getting that list built up fast. The all important list is usually what a membership site is composed of ? interested people who want to return to see what is being offered. People may join a membership site for a number of reasons. They may want to subscribe to a newsletter that you offer, they may be glad to get several things that they want all in one convenient place, or it may be something as simple as loving the font that you use on your site. No matter what the reason for their joining, members can be charged a monthly fee in order to get access to what you have to offer. This generally will consist of articles, services that are available to them, a customer service line for questions and problems and a forum to tie everything together.

When you have a steady stream of members who are paying you monthly, then it is easy to meet your monthly income goals. This can be in addition to any affiliate sales, or it may be used in place of them. Some affiliate marketers love to build their membership site rather than keep several different affiliate websites going. A membership site is able to be marketed more easily than several smaller affiliate websites.

Some membership sites on the Internet use their affiliate marketing programs to attract new clients. For members who bring in other new paying members, a flat fee or commission is given to them. This can also be done by waiving part of the membership fee for those members who wish to recruit. This does not cost the site owner anything, and it brings in new clientele at an exponential rate. Using a system like this, one can get large membership numbers much more quickly and it is also less expensive.

Membership sites are a safe way to protect against sales slumps. In a month that has a low sales volume, you can experience a cushion by a steady income of recurring monthly membership fees. If you happen to experience problems with your smaller sites, such as losing your search engine rankings or if a product of yours bites the dust, then the larger site can step in and make up for any lost income.

There are also free membership sites on the Internet that are set up in the same way, but these sites try to attract members by not charging any fees. The income that these sites will realize is in trying to obtain the largest list possible in order to market to in the hopes of getting sales. Having a free membership site will not bring in the recurring membership fees, but, in the long run, it will have a wider membership. Whether you wish to charge to have people enter your website or not, if you have a membership site, this is a strong marketing technique that will help to brand not only your information but your products as well.

Are You A Hunter Or A Farmer?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

You want your customers, potential customers, distributors, professional contacts, staff, distributors, the media, and other third parties who might be advocates for you to know as much about your products and services and your business as they possibly can. And you want them to keep you fresh in their minds.

EMail newsletters are useful for getting all these audiences excited about you or, at least interested in you.

EMail newsletters are one of the most important ways to communicate with these audiences. EMail newsletters can help to build relationships; people read them because they think they might find something useful or interesting - not just a blatant sales pitch and that gift from you tends to provoke reciprocal feelings: ?Give and you shall receive.?

So, if you can get people to remember you and be at least interested (excited really is a tall order!!) about your newsletter, they are going to be much more likely to do business with you or write about you or recommend you to others.

This is becoming more and more important as products and services themselves become ?commoditized?.

This is happening in more and more markets; the ?real? differences between products have narrowed to the point of insignificance. So, your ability to build a relationship with these audiences is more critical than ever.

Brand personality and perceived value are just as important as the product or service ? why else are brands sometimes worth more than the physical assets that produce their goods or services?

So, if EMail newsletters are so great, why doesn’t everyone use them?

The main reason is that they don’t understand how EMail newsletters really work. EMail newsletters further a relationship. EMail newsletters are farming, not hunting.

Farming is a constant process of seeding, watering, cultivating and replanting and that is how EMail newsletters can help turn strangers into friends, leads into clients and clients into referrals.

Although doing a newsletter is a great idea, don?t just ?jump on the bandwagon?. An Email newsletter, like all marketing, needs planning.

They are about news or valuable information to position you as the expert and if you’re not a born writer, EMail newsletters can appear daunting. Gathering and producing content is a challenge, then there’s putting the newsletter together in an attractive format, and mailing or e-mailing it out.

Even though you may have great information to give away, you must also consider the time it takes to put a good newsletter together. Doing a newsletter requires commitment of time and effort. You need to spend an absolute minimum of 3 hours putting it together and editing and polishing.

You have to offer you newsletter in a time frame that will be easy for you to manage and it has to be sent at the right frequency ? not too often and not so infrequently that you are forgotten.

You also need to determine what day of the week and time of the day the newsletter will be distributed. Some days and times are better for getting read than others and they vary by business and audience type. Research it to find out when is the best time to deliver and watch your open rate stats.

Once you have decided on a newsletter then make sure you can do more than 3! It?s a classic that organizations can be inspired to do 3 but then give up because they ?can?t think of anything interesting to say? and ?it?s becoming boring and too much like hard work?!

So, now you have actually decided to go ahead and have an idea of frequency and look and all those other points sit down with a blank piece of paper and write down as many questions as you can think of about your business.

Write down the things that your customers, prospective customers, colleagues, advisers, sales people, friends, relatives ? in fact anyone - ask you every day about your work. What do they want to know?

?How do you. . .??

?Does it. . .??

?What do you think about. . .??

?Can I . . . ??

?Do we have a budget for. . .?

?What do you recommend if. . .??

?Who is in charge of. . .??

Questions, questions, questions.

Now get in contact with all those customers, prospective customers, colleagues, advisers, sales people, friends, relatives and others and ask them what they find

?Most interesting?

?Most puzzling?

?Most confusing?

?Most amusing?

?Most difficult?

?Most ?? anything?

about your business and why.

Then find out what you can say about them that is likely to answer those questions in an appropriate style as long as it?s not boring.

Then go ahead and produce them.

Just remember ?.. EMail newsletters can be a mixed blessing. They can be time-consuming and frustrating, but a good newsletter will bring you more business.

Not only that they continue to work for you after they are produced adding content to your website that is relevant and keeps feeding the search engines and widening your relevant profile so that you have greater index visibility and even more chances of people finding your site.

The 3 MOST Powerful Forms Of ‘Viral Marketing’ That Will PUT Your ‘Opt-In’ List Building Efforts On… Auto-Pilot!

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it.

“The Money Is In The… LIST!”

I bet you’ve heard this catch phrase once or twice while surfing around on the Internet.

I know I have.

But, the question that usually arises is… “How do I effectively build one that won’t cost me an arm and a leg in the process?”

Well, today’s your lucky day because I’m going to highlight 3 of the MOST powerful ways to build your targeted ‘Opt-In List’ by using the Power of ‘Viral Marketing’ as your engine.

And the best part about using these 3 ‘Viral’ methods I’m about to mention are… they cost virtually Nothing to produce, are Highly targeted, give You INSTANT Credibility and are in constant demand by website owners.

So, with that said, let’s move on to what these 3 ‘Viral’ methods are and how they will benefit you and your List Building efforts.

Method #1. Writing ‘Special Reports’.

- Special Reports work great because they allow you to go into more depth about the Topic or Problem in question where you’ll then be able to lead them to how your Product or Service(or Affiliate product) can fix there current problem.

- They give you Instant Credibility, which builds trust in your customer that you are knowlegdable in your industry.

- Website owners are always looking for quality **Free Stuff** to give away or offer to there Visitors and/or Subscribers.

This is where you could CASH-IN, especially if you make your special report ‘Brandable’. This gives the website owner even MORE incentive to give your Freebie away if they can make Money in the process.

- And your Contact Information will always be inside, no matter what. Meaning, as your report is being passed around the Internet you’ll always be able to lead your potential customer back to your website where they could sign-up for your newsletter and/or read up more about your Products or Services you offer.

Method #2. Putting Together A ‘Free eBook’.

- Free eBooks work great as well and have the same benefits as I outlined through the special report.

The only difference using this approach is, you can put together a free ebook in less time then it would take to produce your special report simply because it doesn’t even have to be your own material inside, it can be someone else’s.

Just make sure you put together a free ebook with quality information inside.

- And they also allow you to target more then one Product or Service inside because free ebooks are usually a compilation of related articles targetting a particular problem leaving you room to diversify.

Method #3. Writing ‘Articles’.

- Writing Articles is probably ONE of the Best and Most Effective Ways to produce a wave of Viral traffic to your website because every website owner needs FRESH content to feed to there visitors and/or subscribers.

- They also allow you to Target your audience’s problem specifically that they’re dealing with.

- And at the end of the article you have a spot called the ‘Resource Box’ to insert your personal Bio and/or Website information.

Just imagine if your article were to be picked up by some Newsletter Editor with a large list or High Traffic website and they use it as a ‘Featured Article’ in there publication, you could see an INSTANT Surge of targeted traffic to your website overnight.

That’s where your ‘Resource Box’ comes in.(Take a look at how mine is formatted at the end of this article.)

Well, that about sums it up for the 3 MOST powerful ‘Viral Marketing’ methods being used today by most Internet marketers, and for good reason, because they work.

Now, with all that said, what do these 3 ‘Viral’ methods all have in common that’ll put your List Building efforts on ‘Auto-Pilot’?

- They’re in HIGH demand by website owners.

- They’re HIGHLY Targeted.

- They give You INSTANT Credibility in your industry.

- They have YOUR Contact Details leading to Your website.

…and Most important of all, they’re all FREE!

Just think for a minute, by using only ONE of these methods listed above, how it could put your Opt-In list building efforts on ‘Auto-Pilot’.

This article represents just a summarized version of all the different List Building techniques available online, But, in my opinion, these 3 are the most effective.
